Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight kicks off spring with a deeply thematic and impactful new content update titled Steady Pulse. Anchored by the debut of a courageous new Survivor, major UI and gameplay improvements, and a charitable initiative supporting real-world pediatric care, this is one of the game’s most heartfelt updates to date.
Meet Orela Rose: The Paramedic Hero Enters the Fog
The spotlight shines on Orela Rose, a new Survivor and former EMT whose commitment to helping others is unshaken, even in the horrifying Realm of The Entity. Inspired by real-world first responders, Orela brings a selfless spirit and three powerful new perks that emphasize her protective nature:
- Do No Harm – Increases healing speed and Skill Check progression when healing injured allies based on their Hook State.
- Duty of Care – Grants nearby Survivors a Haste boost when you take a Protection Hit while healthy.
- Rapid Response – Rushing out of a Locker reveals the Killer’s aura temporarily and applies Exhausted, making it a high-risk, high-reward ability.
Orela’s backstory is deeply human: driven by the loss of her best friend, she left university to become a frontline EMT. Her skillset reflects real-world resilience and care, making her one of the most community-oriented Survivors the game has ever introduced.
Real-World Impact: Charity Partnership with CHU Sainte-Justine
In a powerful act of giving back, Dead by Daylight has partnered with Montreal’s CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, which supports pediatric care and research.
From May 6 to May 27, 2025, 100% of the proceeds from two Orela Paramedic Skins will go to the foundation, directly benefiting children in need. Players can also expect a community-driven in-game activity tied to the charity campaign, with details to be announced soon.
Additionally, those who want to contribute directly can donate through the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s website.
The Rift Revamped: Overgrowth Begins a New Era
Alongside the character release, Dead by Daylight is rebranding and improving its challenge system. The Archives are now known as The Rift, and players can now activate all Quests at once, creating a smoother, faster path to rewards.
This update kicks off with the OVERGROWTH Rift, launching May 6, and brings with it a new wave of cosmetics under the Dark Overgrowth Collection, featuring floral-themed outfits for:
- Haddie Kaur
- The Dredge
- The Nurse
- Orela Rose
- Feng Min
